Identifying information Minor is a ten-year old female of Hispanic origin. B. Setting Minor is a client of Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). DCFS serves the entire Los Angeles County and its purpose is to investigate reports of physical, sexual, neglect and emotional abuse to children. Overall, DCFS provides protective services to all children (under age 18) and other auxiliary services to their families. C. Reason for Referral Currently, minor is served by DCFS under the Family maintenance program. Minor is under the care of biological mother and resides at home. Minor first entered the system four years ago when her father physically abused minor. Minor was detained and placed with foster parents. Minor s case was closed for only a few months but minor re-entered the system two years ago because father continued the physical abuse. Minor was detained and placed into a foster home. Prior case history shows that DCFS has contacted and visited minor s family several times regarding the physical abuse and neglect.
